The day after quitting my first ‘real job’ I called up a man by the name of Lloyd Rodgers who I saw as being the most successful builder, developer and realtor in my community. I asked him if I could come in to talk to him. He asked me why. I told him that I wanted to work for the ‘best in the business’ and that if he would give me ten minutes of his time I would show him how he could benefit from having me in his business.

To make a long story short, Mr. Rodgers, he told me to call him Lloyd, was so impressed by my having the ‘balls’ (his exact words) to call him and my enthusiasm to want to learn from him. He said it reminded him of when he was starting out. He hired me ‘on-the-spot’ as his assistant.
Today, I guess you would call me the apprentice. I hung by his side like a dirty shirt 12 – 14 hrs a day for almost a year. Lloyd was the ‘Donald’ Trump in my eyes. I wanted to be like Lloyd so bad that one day I decided it was time. Time to go on my own. I told him and he said, “I’m not surprised hotshot, you’re a fast learner …”.
I expected him to be mad. He wasn’t. There were no hard feelings and he wished me well and I went out the next day and put down a ‘Nothing-Down-Option-to-Purchase’ on 2 old dilapidated shacks near the downtown district that I had plans to bull doze and build my dream.
I then used some of Lloyd’s connections at city hall to get a speedy re-zoning for multi-family dwellings on the 2 single-family properties and the rest is history.

I started this business from scratch with no money at the age of 22. It was called, Landmark Development Group. I pre-sold and built multifamily dwelling units and sold them to Doctors and Dentists as tax shelters. My Company was one of the first businesses in Western Canada in the 70’s to offer this kind of investment package showing buyers how to pay for investment properties out of their tax-saved dollars.
It was the first time I implemented the ‘system’ into my own business. It immediately turned my life around forever. I went from being a young struggling ‘self-employed’ entrepreneur nobody had heard of; to being a well respected and hugely sought-after business owner.

My 2nd successful business was called Internet Fashion Hosiery (Yes, I had a company called 'Internet' before there was an Internet as we know it today.). Starting from scratch I enticed over 400 commissioned sales people scurrying through the office towers of New York City including the World Trade Center Towers and the Empire State Building selling one of the first if not the first 'No-Run' pantyhose with 38 fashion colors. I eventually fired all of the sales reps and converted the business into the first Fashion Hosiery Mail Order Business of its kind.
Yes, you read that right. I went from building and selling apartments in little known Western Canada to selling ‘Cotton Gusseted Pantyhose’ in 38 fashion colors to women in sizes ranging from ‘Petite’ to ‘Super-Full-Figure’ in the largest city in North America, New York City.
My Friends And Family Thought I Was Nuts.
As they say, I was dumb like a fox. I did a lot of research and when I found out
how much money women spend on hosiery each month and how difficult full-figured women have finding pantyhose that fit them, I decided to move to the fashion capital of the world and get a piece-of-the-action on this ‘high-profit’ consumable item.
I was back in business in pursuit of the American Dream. What a better place to do it in, then the Big Apple! I had no fear. After all, I had the ‘System’. It didn’t fail me. I jumped out of the gate using what I refer to as the,

I was told later that they were in total shock when he reported to them on his arrival that I didn’t have any retail outlets. It’s a funny story that I am sure I will relate to you when you become a subscriber to the ‘System’.
In less than 3 years I expanded my hosiery business into Boston and Detroit and I was ordering in larger quantities than this manufacturer’s #1 retail chain store client, which happened to be a national chain, which at the time, had around 129 stores. It didn’t take long for ‘buy-out’ offers to roll in.
“Guess Why I Love Nurses?”
The 3rd business I started was based on another principle I call, ‘MMMPP’ which you’ll find I recommend in the ‘System’ that every Business can use to generate a lot of income without increasing much of your overhead. It’s a no-brainer and is much easier to implement today than it was for me to do back in the late 80’s.
I stumbled onto this ‘Brain Storm’ at a Gary Halbert Marketing Seminar (Gary is known as the World’s Greatest copywriter) while chatting one evening with Ken Varga and Dan Kennedy who, like me were also attendees at the seminar. One of Ken’s companies is the largest direct-marketer of insurance to nurses in the country. Dan, I am sure you have heard of, is now a world famous speaker and marketing consultant.
I give Dan and Ken both credit for turning on the ‘light-bulb’ in my head that led me to implement this great time-tested principle that almost overnight created a brand new million-dollar business for me.
I started a mail-order-company that specialized in selling ‘high-priced’ support hose to the huge nursing ‘niche market’ nationwide. I ended up utilizing multiple principles from the ‘System’ in this business and it was responsible for my coming up with what I call the ‘Independence Principle’ which I will highly recommend you use when I hand you this piece of the ‘System’.

I created four best-selling books along with four 5 to 7 page offers for each book and mailed them out to mailing lists I rented and they generated over 150,000 copies sold which was worth millions of dollars to me.
The first book, Direct Mail & Direct Response Marketing Techniques, the Experts Don’t Want You to Know About, 17 years later, still generates a few thousand sales a year at $50 a pop.
I used another of my books called, How To Advertise, with the ‘System’s’ ‘Door-Opener-Technique’ to spring-board another stream of back-end income for me. As you’ll soon learn, every business can and will make a pile of money selling back-end products and services.
