Originally, I wanted to name my company "Atomics" from the phrase used in a 1984 scifi flick called "Dune". The phrase uttered by Patrick Stewart that turned the tide in the war has always stuck with me. Unfortunately, that website name was already spoken for. So I started playing around with several names like Atomic Wave, Atomic Typhoon, etc.

Atomic Theory states that matter is composed of discrete units that cannot be divided any further. It is founded by the word Atomos which means uncuttable. Founding a company as a sole proprietorship seemed to fit this description.

In my youth, I discovered a new arcade game in the local Pietro's Pizza called "Space Invaders". I was immediately hooked. It wasn't long before I was entering my initials into the top scoring spots and instead of using RTE I decided on SEA. I've always been found of water.

When trying to think of a name that was decidedly "me", I combined the two words into Atomic Sea.

I started consulting in October 2006 and started atomicsea April 2007.

The largest users group for the software I consult on is PLM World ( www.plmworld.net ). PLM World is focused on "the voice of the user". I sit as the Teamcenter Engineering Special Interest Group (TcEng SIG) leader in that organization.

I'm proud to live in Eugene, Oregon where Steve Prefontaine has shown everyone somethinig truely special, the home of the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and the upcoming Olympic trials.
